Today I gave a talk on a paper I just published about jellyfish development (called “Evolution and development of scyphozoan jellyfish,” you can find it here). In preparation I searched for videos showing the process of jellyfish metamorphosis–also known as strobilation–where a polyp transforms into a stack of many small jellyfish. I was expecting to find a video or two of a strobila, maybe a video showing early polyps beginning the process. But finding this time-lapse video of the entire process was 1000 times better than anything I dreamed! I’ve never seen anything like it. The audience loved it. And hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
